Menengai Crater Rim Ride
A morning climb to the rim of one of the largest calderas in the world, then the descent back into town. Straight out of the Nakuru shop.
Menengai is a caldera eight kilometres across, and its rim sits some 500 m above Nakuru town. The climb is the ride — steady, unrelenting and entirely worth it for the moment the crater floor opens out below you.
We start from the Tapoos Complex shop, climb through the morning, stop at the viewpoint for photos and a snack, then descend back into town. Home before lunch.
Fitness
Genuinely challenging for the climb, easy for everything else. No support vehicle is needed — we stay close to town throughout.
